Working to Get out of Financial Trouble is Easier Than I Thought

Christmas was near, and I found myself wishing that I didn’t have to deal with the holiday at all. I didn’t have the money for gifts for my very large family. I was having trouble getting my own bills paid, and buying things would make that far worse. My neighbor told me the company she works for was looking for a part time cleaner in Singapore because one of their employees had just quit. She said that the pay is really good. She invited me to apply and said that she would put in a good word for me with her boss. I realized then that I had been thinking of myself as a victim. I should have been looking for a way to better myself, and getting a part-time job would help me with my financial trouble.

I applied for the job and got it. My new boss let me go on several house-cleaning visits with my neighbor so that I could be properly trained. I did this with her for about two weeks. The work was pretty easy, and I found that I enjoyed cleaning things up in other people’s houses more than I did my own place! This is because many clients have beautiful homes, and I love to look around and enjoy the surroundings when I am at each place.

I have thanked my neighbor many times for helping me to think outside the box. I had been stuck in life for a few years prior to that. I had been working to try to find a better full time job, but had no luck. It had never occured to me to get a second job instead. The job is not stressful at all, and I really enjoy seeing the extra money that I’m now earning as it gets deposited into my bank account every week.
