Helping Our Seniors Stay Young at Heart

My wife and I volunteer at a senior center here in the city. We both have a heart for the elderly because we were raised to respect all people. It seems that the older a person becomes in our society, the more they are ignored for the most part. My wife and I wanted to make sure that we did in our part in making sure they know their value. We go on at least one trip a month with them using transport services in Singapore because we don’t limit ourselves to things right on the block that they are on.

We want them to experience things just like they did when they were younger. This includes nice meals out, seeing a play at the theater or a film at the cinema, going to the museum or a sporting event, or one of dozens of other things that they still find joy in.This group that we are involved in are quite mobile, and they all get excited when we vote on what our next trip will be. We always use the same bus company to get us where ever we want to go for a number of reasons.

The buses we use are so comfortable. We all pile into one bus, but which one we take depends on how many people sign up for any given event. At times it is a small group and we only need a small transport bus. Other times, we may have up to 40 people going somewhere, and we use the larger bus then. No matter which one we use, it is comfortable and clean, and we have such a blast just on the bus portion of the trip. It makes me so happy to know that we are helping our seniors stay young at heart!
